Richt, a royal court magician, had joined the party to accompany the crown prince—who held the title of Hero—on a dungeon expedition. However, due to the prince’s arrogance and prejudice, Richt was stripped of his court magician status and even sentenced to exile from the kingdom.
The one who gently comforted him was Flare, his childhood friend from the same orphanage.
“If you’re leaving the country, then I’ll go with you!”
He had planned to begin a peaceful journey with the woman he had loved for many years. But there was no way the world would simply ignore the strongest and most capable barrier mage—someone who had single-handedly protected the entire kingdom.
Meanwhile, with the supreme barrier Richt had cast now gone, the crown prince begins to weaken and fall into ruin.
And even if he were to get down on his knees and beg now, there’s no way I’m going back.
